The Alpha Gamma Chapter’s Outreach to their Senior Community

Here at Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc., we aim to impact the lives of not only our members but also those within our respective communities. With 33 active chapters across the country, and over 1,300 active members, our members work hard to positively impact the lives of those around them. As a National Fraternity, we want to recognize the amazing work being done by the Alpha Gamma chapter at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Their members have been recognized by the Life Enrichment Manager and Volunteer Coordinator Jonathan Tate for their work with the Warm Hearth Village community.

“For the past year and a half, Warm Hearth Village has worked with Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. of Virginia Tech to bring programming, events, and activities to our residents across our campus.  The members have participated in everything from socials, games, sharing their musical abilities, as well as volunteering at in other various parts as well.  We have been able to utilize them in our nursing department and other administrative roles as well.  The past and current leadership have been so passionate about DEM being fully engaged with our community!”

As future health professionals, all members of Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. understand the need for assisting those in the geriatric community. With well over 28,900 assisted living communities across the country, we are proud that our brothers and sisters at the Alpha Gamma chapter are doing their part to helping the residents of the Warm Hearth Village community (NCAL, 2016).

-Warm Hearth Village is comprised of a group of affiliated corporations that work in partnership by exchanging medical and financial information to meet the changing needs of our senior residents and clients.-
